I am a 23 year old Tamil Indian girl and for the first time EVER in my life I'm seeing girls who looks like me take centre stage in a period drama, a genre I've grown up loving. I'm an EMOTIONAL MESS, representation is so important, hats off to the entire cast and crew for highlighting the diversity and showing that we're all deserving of love and romance no matter our background

As a dark skinned Indian-American woman, for the first time in my life, I can see someone who looks like me being considered a desirable love interest in mainstream media with no caveats. Honestly I feel more moved than I thought I would. I can’t even explain, representation matters so so much

Binged the season today. I would say better than the first one. Exactly what you need in these times, light entertainment with heart. I found the conflicts to be better written while the casting costumes and romance was again impeccable

Just binge-watched the whole season 2. There wasn't much sex scenes BUT they weren't needed. The slow burn has enough sexual tension as it is and I loved it even more. The fact that Anthony wouldn't just hump in to actually kiss Kate really meant something else unlike how he was in season 1.

I liked Kate and Anthony's chemistry better than Daphne and Simon's. I love how they burn and long for each other and cannot but look at each other desperately as though nobody else is there. My absolute favourite scene is when Anthony whispers in Kate's ears and Kate is speechless. They have this steaming chemistry every time they are near each other and I am a total sucker for that. TRULY, one of the best couple everrrr.....

okay so just watched all the episodes in a marathon and wow. i honestly did not think i would like this couple as much as daphne and simon, and even considered not watching the new season. but wow this season is just as spectacular as the first. now i dont know how im going to wait for season 3! was anthony this hot in season 1?! ❤🥵

My ONLY qualm is that Anthony and Kate needed much more screen time. They have beautiful chemistry and it was absolutely amazing to watch..I felt breathless, lost in their moments and loved every chance they had to steal the screen. Jonathan Bailey is a tremendous actor, all of them are truly wonderful..but wow, he fully captivates attention. Wonderful season.

Just finished watching. I do not recall a romance drama/love story ever impacting me so deeply. You will have moments throughout the season where you will love them and then you will hate them and you will be in such agony and torment and frustration but in the end… the end hit me so hard that I broke down into tears for a whole half hour. This was a profound love story. More profound, I believe, than the book itself. What in incredible performance of Simone and Johnathan and to the writing team as well, my god! I am… awe struck. Call me dramatic but I believe you all have just made history with this one.

Season 2 was incredible. It was just as interesting as season one. For me even more so. We got to see the back story of Anthony and it made me love him even more. The writers robbed us of screen time with Anthony and Kate. Their chemistry was so amazing. You could actually feel the vibrations of their chemistry when they are looking at each other. Just wow. The actors did an amazing job. I wanted to see more of their romance and verbal spars. We had too much Penelope and the Featheringtons imo. I get that she is lady W but come on. I loved Eloise and Edwina this season. Such interesting characters. Season 2 overall was awesome.

Omg they're having a haldi ceremony for Edwina (part of Indian culture, bride dresses in yellow and turmeric paste is applied all over her body - it is believed that'll make her skin glow on her wedding day). First i have to say that i am totally and completely in love with Anthony and Kate, the casting is perfect and the season was soo much better than the first. I read the book after watching this season and I was really surprised. They changed so much, and although i liked the book I am sooo happy they did because the series is something else. Their chemistry can't be described and whoever made the casting choice and wrote the script is a freaking genius. I don't see how the third season can be better than this one, but considering i also said that after the first, everything is possible. I'm just happy that we'll be seeing Kanthony once more next season!!

Just watched this and it was incredible. I've never read the books so I can't talk of the accuracy but this season was as compelling as season 1. Finished season 2 and I thought season 1 was very good but this season was fantastic. The story, the dialog, the characters, the way the cast masterfully executed their respective characters, top top notch and I do not say that often. Another thing I do not often do is plow my face into my pillow n scream at the ending lol. The build up over the entire season to that was soooo well done. Not exactly sure how they could make season 3 better, shall have to wait (ugh) and see.
Sara
Sara:
Ok I watched this show in three days. Season 1 was great, but Season two has my heart. The topic of being the eldest in a family and feeling like you are disappointing others and needing to sacrifice things is quite relatable! A lot of South Asians will relate to the constant pressure to marry and find a “suitable” partner. I think I finally understand why arranged marriages work, and why certain ppl opt for that instead of love. Jonathan Bailey is phenomenal and his acting had me staring at only him in certain frames. His expressions and the little stares which show his inability to control himself around Kate is etched in my mind. This season has less sex scenes but it was pure 🔥! But that last scene in the last episode tho 😅🥵 was hot! The casting was great but I wish I could’ve seen Lady Mary more in the scenes to show her bonding! I liked the Mama Bridgerton and Eloise this season so much! They were great!!! 💖 who else is excited for season 3!!! ✌️

One thing Shonda, the director and casting crew got right was having two actors who managed to convey real chemistry without even touching. This is a slow burn enemies to lovers romance that was interesting to watch unfold.

I binged watched the show in 1 day.

Pros =

1. Kate and Anthony, they have intense and passionate chemistry.
2. The Bridgerton family are so diverse and interesting
3. The women's dresses are just beautiful.
4. The music
5. Jonathan (Anthony) has some real emotional scenes this season. They were really touching

Cons =

1. Far too much screentime for Penelope this season. She's not that interesting.
2. Too much focus on the Featheringtons too.
3. Not enough focus on the main couple.
4. They needed to add more romance, not sexual scenes but romance

I dare to say season 2 is the best. KATHONY's chemistry is just unbelievable, literally maddening. The way these two portrayed their characters so well to the point they made it believable is just phenomenal. I wasn't a big fan of season 1, but these two just made season 2 more enjoyable, dynamic and intense without including the unnecessary performative sex scene. Their yearning-love story is just one of the best love stories I've ever seen, some tend to be cheesy but these two were just delightful to the eye and soul. Literally for the books!

Loved it. I tend to not like it when there's more seasons after season one because it usually does not meet my expectations from season 1. But this was something else. I love everyone in this season, and Jonathan & Simone had really good acting & chemistry! But as much as I love S2, I still think it could not beat S1. Well the firsts are always the best ones right usually heh😅 Well personally to me, S1’s sexual tension felt way stronger! (that my heart was beating as fast as Daphne’s everytime Simon is involved😆) prolly bcos in S2, as much as there are sexual tensions involved, but the thought of Anthony courting Edwina instead of Kate, kinda kills the mood for me😕 And I wished we had more Kanthony scenes, as much as we had for Daphmon in S1! Hence I feel that the chemistry between the 2 leads in S1 is stronger (that made me go insane for them & rewatch the show & their interviews again & again😆). But still love Bridgerton & all the casts & can’t wait for S3! 🙌🏼🔥💯

This season is definitely better than season 1 coz the chemistry between the leads is on fire. I did read the second book recently. I'm glad the series took a different direction but they should have included more kanthony scenes especially the storm scene from the book...the featherington scenes and side stories were too long and unnecessary. I hope they include a lot of kanthony scenes in season 3.

Season 2 is amazing and better than Season 1 in many ways. It starts off somewhat slow but then by episode 4 you start to hold your breath and suddenly its 3am, you're half dizzy and you realise you couldn't stop watching 😂 Everything draws you in, the chemistry between Anthony and Kate is out of this world. The strong-willed female characters are so inspirational - which is what made a big difference compared to season 1. Loved watching it, can't wait for another season.

Kat dela Cruz
Kat dela Cruz:
The casting on the Sharma sisters is SENSATIONAL! Obviously with the original books, the sisters were white, and Edwina was described as having blonde hair and blue eyes; but the writing itself does show their personalities and the casting reflects that really well. Charithra really captures the innocent beauty of Edwina and why she was the most popular girl of the season. For all intents, she is much more classically pretty than the older sister. But look how well Simone has captured the essence of the Kate character: a woman that isn't ugly, but who for the most part has relegated her own beauty to the background without suffering from pathetic low self-esteem. I always saw Kate as someone who valued herself for her good sense and intelligence, but also pragmatic enough to understand that in those times, that plus her (relatively) advanced age may no longer make her highly sought. And she never pities herself for it. This is, what? a 3-minute edit? and I think all of those characteristics shine through and contrast very very well with what the Edwina actress brings to the role. Perfect embodiments of the characters, and it just goes to show that it's the personalities that really make up the character, not the color of their skin and eyes and hair. Beautiful work done by the casting directors and I can't wait to see the work of the actresses in full!

ALSO MORE IMPORTANTLY, YES to expanding Whistledown/Penelope's role in the series! Penelope as a character is probably the most interesting to explore and expand because nobody else in the series afaik is also a businesswoman, and one that had such a huge impact on the ton too. Her novel touches a bit on that business (it was very successful and set her and her family up) but doesn't really go deep on how groundbreaking it was and we never see her in action very much as Whistledown and I am SUPREMELY grateful for what appears to be the opportunity to see more of that side. The other women all had stories that made you root for them (except Daphne, we know that was assault, babe). Eloise gets a really good match, and Francesca's story is also very satisfying. But those are largely very personal and individual romantic triumphs. Penelope's Lady Whistledown, on the other hand, is a professional and creative triumph. As Colin says, she has her life's work. Not even the men in the Bridgerton family can claim to have done anything as impactful as Whistledown, and men had much more agency in the 19th century. The closest may be Benedict, but I don't think he becomes a very important artist anyway. Women's professional successes is obviously not a thing history has focused on for this time period, so I'm glad that it seems they're trying to do that in Season 2 onward. MORE PENELOPE!!

I love Season 2 more! The storyline is good and straight to the point, at times cliché and cheesy, but it's okay. It has Pride and Prejudice feel to it, I like the less sexual scene because Season 1 was awful looking at Simon's butt. I wish to see more of Daphne taking stricter and strong pursuit as a woman in society and for her family, but her role in Season 2 is still good. I heard about the actor playing Simon not returning, but it's fine. Edwin and Kate are great addition, Edwina is so sweet and Kate is fierce. Penelope is still my favorite, I want her to show more power. I wish that Benedict and Eloise gets into deeper trouble, because those two need to be "humbled" lol (still love them). Season 2 is a good job! Now give me Season 3 lol. Something more spicy and scandalous okay (Queen's voice).

Finished it within 24 hours i must say i fell in love with Anthony and Kate, didn't expect Anthony to show love like this, more than anything i loved their fierce chemistry so much the tension the desires omg i can't believe im obsessed with it and as a Indian woman I'm so happy to see that female lead is a poc! and they used a Bollywood song, a ritual before marriage so overall I'm pleased to say I'm obsessed with this specially over kathony.
