The 2021 US Open main draw runs from August 30 - September 12 in New York City at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. The tournament takes place for the 141st time and is the fourth and final Grand Slam of the year. Dominic Thiem is the men’s singles defending champion but has withdrawn following an injury. Naomi Osaka is the women’s singles defending champion and will be aiming to claim the title for the third time in four years. Meanwhile, No. 1 seed Novak Djokovic looks to complete the calendar Grand Slam after winning the Australian Open, French Open and Wimbledon already this year. Should the Serbian lift the title here for the fifth time, he will also overtake Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal to become the first-ever man to win 21 Grand Slam singles titles. With full capacity crowds back again, it’s time for the greatest return!

Diego's ability to pop up and create leverage on that jumping backhand is phenomenal. He is a true mechanical joy to watch as he doesn't have any natural advantages but still generates such crisp pop on the ball. Always happy to see him win!
Haven't seen him play at this level in a while. Looking fantastic.
Schwartzman looks like he brought a little extra something to New York. He is not to be underestimated.
Diego is an inspiration for us short players🤩👏👏

2:32 so everybody just gunna ignore that insane behind the back shot by molcan? on match point too
Vamos Diego!! Diego has a lot of firepower he is small but he hits the ball very hard. He is also extremely quick.

I'll say what everybody's thinking (with respect to Diego): how does an easy 3-setter win by Diego gets a 3 minutes long highlights video while a thrilling 5-setter of Alcaraz and Stefanos gets an under 3 minutes long video (same thing about Tiafoe and Rublo).

I'm quite happy to see Diego go so far, and while I don't think the finals are possible, please prove me wrong Argentine #1 :D
As a tennis fan and a bet maker I can tell you that Diego is among the elite of very few players that I never bet against.
His mental strength is uncanny, his ability to break serves is just right there fighting for the 2nd best in the world just behind Novak’s return. You can never be sure if someone is going to outplay this man, and despite seeing it time after time, I can’t help being always in shock to see a 170cm tennis player showing that consistency year after year.

Diego is making quiet steady progress and looking impressive, he could be a dark horse.
These 3 set wins will help him later on in the tournament
Schwartzman is not known as a dangerous hard court player but he's done a great job so far. He mostly just puts the ball in play and hits a little shallow but he runs well and hits the occasional winner.

Hope he will go deep in this tournament or even win the title. He is aging now. It's hard to win any GS when you age more than 30.
