Naomi Osaka is the women’s singles defending champion and will be aiming to claim the title for the third time in four years. Meanwhile, No. 1 seed Novak Djokovic looks to complete the calendar Grand Slam after winning the Australian Open, French Open and Wimbledon already this year. It’s very rare that you see a teenage player come into their FIRST TWO MAJOR TOURNAMENTS (for those of you who can’t read) and make such a big impact, Emma plays with such conviction, has tactical prowess beyond her years, and the power and precision to back it up, but also (perhaps most importantly) terrific mental resilience, she was 0-30 down in her final service game and held her nerve admirably, as long as she keeps growing and developing I see no reason why Raducanu can’t become a top, top player down the line!
A V:
I've read several comments saying that she had an easy draw, that she hadn't been able to beat a top-15 and so on. That's partially true, but playing in her third week (and 4th round at Wimbledon), now beating Bencic and being in the semis at 18 has to mean something. Her baseline game is really consistent and powerful, as is her mental ability to change it up. I hope she doesn't end up being a one hit wonder. Raducanu seems to have an exceptional game and consistency. Let's see...
Raducanu played her first WTA match at the beginning of June. She lost in straight sets to Harriet Dart. In just 3 months she's risen over 300 ranking places.

Emma Raducanu is unbelievable! So excited to see what the future holds for her
Radacanu doesn't feel like another "teenage sensation" - she has been the better player in every single set she's played. She looks like she belongs already.

Let me share with you guys a few things that I know personally about Emma....

She is 100% genuine. She's kind, respectful and humble. The way you see her during interviews is exactly the way she is off the field. I am so so proud of her and it brings me to tears because she deserves every bit of happiness and success.
Imagine a final…

I have noticed that Emma's court performances just over the last few months have been nothing less than absolutely unbelievable. Just goes to show that failure is a pre-requisite to success and her mental ability and confidence now is flowing like a rapid. I think we're about to see a whole lot more from this young lady.
Her smile says it all.

She has absolutely dismantled every opponent out in front of her… in her 3rd and 4th round matches she had runs of winning 11 games in a row?! That is ELITE!!!
Raducanu won 2 sets to love, 12 games to 7, but this video shows more points won by Bencic.
I have to give her credit, she has a lot of heart, and not much fear. She's very impressive!

Go Emma. Great to see a youngster these days chasing & making her dreams come true. Youth of today have never had it better but you try telling them that. Emma is just dynamite!! 👏👏👏
How do these highlights not have the best point in the match, a thrilling 20-odd shot rally that Raducanu won with a winner?! I think to bring up her break point for 5-3 in the first set.

Edit: Well, to be fair, it got its own separate video :)
S T:
She deserves it she fights like a warrior on the court and has that Novak line bendiness that sees her move incredibly well.

The real deal! Sensational stuff from her all tournament. Such coolness and composure and yet to drop a set! She had to qualify for this tournament so has played 3 extra matches than all her opponents( except Voegle). Just incredible!
You can only play (and beat) what is in front of you, and Emma has done a phenomenal job doing that. I am rooting for her in her semis with Sakkari!!!

The highlights shows most of Bencic winning points; leave me puzzled how did Raducanu won in straight sets?

That is LEGIT. I really hope she goes all the way and wins this tournament. This young woman is the real deal.

This match was really close, they play very similar styles. The difference was raducanus defence was better and her 1st serve was more effective and set up her 2nd attack shot more often. Her big advantage over the other players is how little court time she has had compared to the others..including her qualifications..gonna be interesting to see if she can keep it together mentally ??

This is a special U.S open this year! Two teenagers into the semis for women. Amazing!
Bursting onto the tennis biggest stages and taking over, it will be interesting to see how she will sustain at this level now that she will be a household name
Unbelievable, incredible run, that forehand is killer. A classy reaction from Bencic.

She made history! Or, rather history affirmed her dream for she is just awesome! Go Emma! Win it all!

Congrats Emma! Glad to see Emma and Leylah are playing classy players (Bencic, Svitolina, Kerber) that after a defeat go to the other side of the court to congratulate the winner. Hope these young talents are learning those thing too :)

I cannot believe what I’ve just been watching!!! Apart from Emma’s tennis, her attitude is second to none, her personality is a delight and she takes everything in her stride. Long may it continue. And NO fierce screaming as most players are doing today. Keep away from social media too. Certain Players and people get depressed even reading one bad comment about them.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry but Emma Raducanu's incredible run in the US Open...I'm just astounded! Bencic played brilliantly too but Raducanu came out on top. Emma's now ranked 51st in the latest WTA rankings. I'm so proud of our Brit :)

It was unfortunate that Emma had to withdrawl from Wimbledon during a R4 match (due to anxiety attacks). Who knows how far she could've gone. She looks to have a handle on it and playing sound tennis. And appears to be actually having fun too! 👏

What this absolute queen is doing is simply staggering. To come from absolutely nowhere and within 3 months on the main tour to have made back to back slam 2nd weeks and at least a semi final (if not better) and to be Britain’s new number 1 and almost top 50 guaranteed is just unheard of in any sport from any nation let alone a Brit in tennis!!! Even Roger, Rafa, Serena, Nole etc weren’t this quick at the slams. The way she plays tactically aswell is similar to Andy when he 1st appeared, right shot at the right time but the key difference is Emma’s body (so far) is a lot better than his. It took Murray about 7 years to win a slam. It might not even take Emma 7 months (AO in January) to win one (assuming she doesn’t win tonight and Saturday)
6-3, 6-4. So Raducanu won 12 games to 7, yet these highlights showed 80% Bencic points. I see they're hating on Raducanu

While Emma is playing amazing tennis I don't want to get too carried away. I remember Melanie Oudin in 2009 reached the 4th round at Wimbledon, and then made the QF of the US Open aged 18. A few years later she's outside the top 100 and losing in qualifying rounds.

I want to see Fernandez and Raducanu in the Final ! That would be EPIC ! WE will see wants happens in the semis anything is possible
Raducanu reminds me a lot of Ivanovic in appearance and Playstyle, what a talented young lady!
Is it even possible to have an "easy draw" aged eighteen at only your second grand slam ranked 150 in the world?

BRAVA, Emma! You are a phenomenon! I haven't seen shot making like this in a long time. It's just strange that the US Open Tennis channel showed all the points that Bencic won instead of yours.
Lets make it an all teens final 😍

Mr editor as I am watching this...don't be biased...try and even out great points done by both players...it seems that even tho Raducanu thrashed Bencic the latter has more winning points seen in your editing...be fair... Congratulations Emma!!!

If she can beat Benici Emma can beat anyone .
Benici was really on her game today, that was no mean feat taking her apart by Emma.
I really think she can beat Fernandez if they meet in the finals .
Emma just seems to have a feel for the opponents weak points.

I watched a couple of her matches. I notice she has a powerful left hand and she hit it with consistency right at the edge always never leave you much room to breath. Her right hand isn't too bad either. Other players seem to play it safe but she hit every shot with such power and right at you, it's hard to defend. I think once she develop an even more powerful serve, it'll be even hard to stop. I notice players like Williams and Osaka constantly serve over 100mph and Emma can serve over 100mph but mostly sub 100mph. She's only 18 but when she gain more strength and power, it will be even easy to win. I don't actually like players that dominate win with just serving, it seems 1-dimensional. But if Emma can take advantage and develop into a powerful server, it will be game over very quickly in most matches.

The majority of winnings points shown in these highlights were won by Bencic, yet she got well beaten in straight sets. Bencic must have more powerful sponsors.
