ABOUT THE 2021 GOLDEN GLOBE AWARDS:
The 78th Golden Globes will take place on February 28, coast to coast from 4 pm to 8 pm PT/7-11 ET on NBC. The event will be hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, returning for the fourth time, after hosting in 2013, 2014, and 2015. Fey and Poehler will share duties from their respective cities, with Fey on the East Coast and Poehler on the West Coast. Fey will be live from New York’s Rainbow Room, Poehler will be live from the Beverly Hilton, in Beverly Hills, and nominees, from various locations around the world.

To all the idiots who will inevitably say Chloé Zhao winning here was part of some diversity agenda: No. This was Chloé Zhao's award from the beginning. She has been winning absolutely everything from every festival and critics circle. Plenty of people agree that Mank was one of David Fincher's weakest films. I'm all for David Fincher getting a Best Director award at some point but there is definitely a reason she is winning all of these awards. It might be different if Mank was as good as David Fincher's other movies.

I loved this movie. Not a documentary, but made with real people, real emotions. Not for people who bore easily and need lots of action or tend to judge others easily. So important to dignify those who may be struggling. There are good and kind hearts amongst them. We need more good and kind hearts in the world.

So happy for Nomadland to win best drama. Chloe is a hidden gems. Though, I hope it'll win the heart of the oscars. Often, any film that won at the golden globe was not chosen for best picture at the oscars. For example, 1917, Three Billboards, The Revenant, Boyhood...

My friend saw Nomadland and he slept halfway thru the movie.
The only reason he stayed in the theater bc his GF wanted to finish watching.
Otherwise he said he would've left.
He says Leftist Hollywood will shower this movie with Oscars to make a point.
He saw Chicago 7 and thought the story and acting were so much stronger.
I actually think the Carey Mulligan movie should've won.
I don't know if this will be a political Oscar year, but the timing seems right.

Nomadland has a shot being the second year in a row an Asian director takes home Oscar Best Picture and Best Director (Parasite won last year, remember ?)
My friend saw Nomadland and he slept halfway thru the movie. He said it's a snoozer.
But coming from a year that brought so much political turmoil, the Academy may award a movie made by an Asian AND a woman.
That would be a first.
But girl, next time wear something decent.
