Nice words from him about Medvedev. Indeed he deserves to be nr.1. I'd say the only thing Djokovic care about is the spot because of the draws. Having the nr.1 seed is always better and since he's probably focused more on the slams ( he has nothing to prove anymore on the rest of his records) he wants that position.

When I started watching tennis Roger was dominating and naturally he became my favourite. Then in 2007 Ana Ivanovic reached RG final and Novak reached QF I think and there were articles published in the Indian newspapers about how the three (Ana, Jelena Jankovic, Novak) played on dried swimming pools and faced other difficulties. Since then this guy has only grown and grown like no other in Tennis history. He has been through some of the most crushing situations throughout his career enough to demoralize anyone but, everytime he has bounced back. Not long ago in 2020 USO he was defaulted and beaten easily by Rafa in the RG final. But right in 2021 he achieved something which was very very special . I am sure this time will be no different. Stay strong and keep winning Nole. Will happily watch you no matter what is the difference between you and Rog. This fan has only admiration, respect and love without any difference.
