People don't seem to realise how clever Leclercs defense was. The DRS detection zone is right at the braking zone of turn 1, so by braking very early Verstappen gets infront and Leclerc gets the DRS for the next straight.

Say what you want, after last year... K-Mag in 5th is the highlight of the race for me, the guy literally just got back into F1 and he is already shining in the slowest team of the grid last year! Never thought I would say this but im super happy with this season's cars. It appears ALL teams get to be competetive. Its all down to the drivers!

Keeping in mind the unexpected engine failures of RB (were 2nd and 4th with 2 laps to go), this first race already feels more evenly competitive between the top tiers of Ferrari, Red Bull, Mercedez.
Second tier also appears more competitive and balanced. F1 changes has made significant strides from the lack of competitiveness a few years ago.

Watching LeClerc scrubbing about 10mph off his top speed on the start/finish straight and remain in 7th gear to let Verstappen through on the inside, only to then pass him before Turn 4, was a high IQ move. Unfortunately Max doesn't have one of those.

What an amazing first race of the 2022 formula 1 season. We had so many batlles but the best and very interested was with Max and Leclerc fighting for the lead. Was an EPIC batlle. I wish in the next races to see again those kind of battles and with other teams.
Gongratulations to Leclerc for the victory in Bahrain. Ferrari is back after years. RedBull at the end lost everything from car issues and the big surprise from Mercedes with Hamilton's another one podium finish. I hope Mercedes to develop more the car and to have 3 teams with 6 contenders to fight for the formula 1 championship.
Let's see what will happen in the second race of the season in few days from now.
