My love is in league with the freeway
Its passion will ride, as the cities fly by
And the tail-lights dissolve, in the coming of night
And the questions in thousands take flight
My love is the miles and the waiting
The eyes that just stare, and the glance at the clock
And the secret that burns, and the pain that won't stop
And its fuel is the years
Leading me on - leading me down the road
Driving beyond
Driving me down the road

My love is exceeding the limit
Red-eyed and fevered with the hum of the miles
Distance and longing, my thoughts do collide
Should I rest for a while at the side
Your love is cradled in knowing
Eyes in the mirror, still expecting they'll come
Sensing too well when the journey is done
There is no turning back
There is no turning back
On the run

My love is in league with the freeway
Oh the freeway, and
The coming of night-time
My love
My love is in league with the freeway

Before kids, my wife was quite the spouse. She'd dance in the dark to my favorites songs. This was one, that was 1983 just before our first son. It could have been the night, who knows. Damn, that was almost 38 years ago. Still love her like that night.
John Anderson
John Anderson:
I was originally drawn to the guitar part, but lately i've been thinking the bass line is actually the more interesting part, damn what a track.
Man music back then just had an atmosphere that music today lacks, I love the classics and they will stand the test on time for the next century. You just cant help but keep listening and fall into the melody

Is there anyone who doesn't love Robert Plant, Led zeppelin? I mean this rocker is a living legend. He's been putting out some of the greatest songs for well over 5 decades. And even still doing some really great duets. Robert Plant and Alison Krauss are a must if you're a fan.
Early Sunday morning in the Netherlands, 6 o'clock, couldn't sleep anymore. It is raining outside and it's cozy and warm inside. Getting my first sip of coffee, listening to this song makes me take a huge trip down Memory Lane..... ahh life is beautiful as long there is great music and enough to smile about.

I remember watching this on Friday Night Videos, things were better back then.
Howard Stern: Robert - where do you find the inspiration for these epic tunes.

Robert Plant: In the craziest of places: you’d think it’d be like I’m driving down the freeway in the dead of night with the desert wind blowing through my mullet… but actually this song was the result of a plumbing malfunction.

Originally it was titled: Love Deuce but Jimmy was staying over at the time and came up with Big Log after he had to phone the water company to get them to open the sluice gates.

I couldn’t walk properly for 2 days and we had to burn that carpet.

I was five years old when this song came out and remember this video on MTV. My father had an old roaster car and he installed a tape deck radio in it and had this song playing all the time. Dad gave me this album as a gift and told me I would appreciate it when I was older. Thanks, Dad, for the memory of when we got along easier and good music. Amazing how music takes you back to a simpler time.

Yasumura Yokoyama
Yasumura Yokoyama:
Watching this video, I remember riding a small, old motorcycle with a heap of camping gears on the carrier, around the wilderness of Hokkaido, the smallest continent on Earth. The macine was so slow that, on the final day of the touring, I had to keep driving from moring till pitch-dark night, with no spare time to stop to have a meal. While running, I found this song echoing continuously in my head, backing passing fields, hills, sunset and starry sky, and that made it possible for me to enjoy the hard and unwise trip very much.
Adan Arceo
